Presented at ESMO and MAP. Under journal review.

MethyGlio, our cfDNA methylation liquid biopsy for glioma, has been presented to the field in oral presentations at ESMO and MAP congresses. The full manuscript is under journal review and is not yet published. This page sets out what has been presented, what is under review, and the peer-reviewed glioma work it builds on.

Oral and poster presentations

The MethyGlio evidence, presented to the field.

What has been presented

The atlas, the classifier and the first blood-based signatures.

  • MAP Congress 2026, invited oral. The 15,606-sample harmonised atlas, the 57,425 CpG sites shared across array generations, and the six nested classification tasks from tumour detection to molecular class.
  • ESMO Congress 2025, oral. DNA methylation-based epigenetic signatures for classification and non-invasive diagnosis of glioma.
  • MAP Congress 2025, oral. The Transformer framework for glioma classification and non-invasive diagnosis.
  • ESMO AI and Digital Oncology 2025, poster. Interpretable deep learning for glioma classification and liquid biopsy biomarker discovery.

The MethyGlio study · manuscript under peer review

The full MethyGlio manuscript, not yet published.

  • Atlas and model. A harmonised atlas of 15,606 methylation profiles and a hierarchical Transformer model, with 99.2% glioma subtype accuracy under locked, leakage-controlled evaluation.
  • Independent clinical evaluation. In an independent cohort of 68 consecutively enrolled neurosurgical patients, the locked model, with no retraining, achieved an AUC of 0.958 for tumour entity (61 evaluable patients) and, among the 27 glioma samples, 0.955 for subtype, 0.953 for grade and 0.903 for molecular class.
  • Circulating biomarker discovery. Candidate cfDNA methylation markers, with proof-of-concept serum-to-tumour concordance at selected loci in a small number of matched cases. Larger prospective blood-based studies are required.
  • Status. The manuscript has not yet completed peer review, so these results are data on file. MethyGlio is research-stage and is not approved for clinical diagnosis.
